Laminate film is made of a base film coated with an adhesive. The composite material is used for a multitude of purposes because it provides a mixture of function, protection, and enhanced appearance choices. Despite many advantages, paper with the traditional laminate film does not easily degrade over time, which leads to a certain level of environmental pressure. Thus, laminate film has always been seen as a necessary evil in the printing industry as its versatility comes with a high environmental cost.
Manufacturing and consumption are cycles that will never disappear and will inevitably continue to put pressure on the environment. Nevertheless, we have always had environmental protection as one of our core principles, and we fully comply with the international 3R1D (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Degradable) principles through our advanced technology and eco-friendly materials.
Fudy provides the following laminating services:
In the early years of product packaging, to prevent pollution, moisture, and damage to the printed surface, traditional laminating film was adopted. However, a large amount of water was needed to separate the paper from the plastic film during recycling. It was not only challenging to recycle, but the process was also costly. As a result, packaging with traditional laminating film could not be effectively recycled and reused.
In line with the principle of 3R1D, this operation can effectively recycle the BOPP film that traditionally would’t decompose.
The printed products laminated and processed by this method are stain-resistant, moisture-resistant, and have no oil stains. The aesthetic effect of this kind of eco-friendly laminating film is as good as the traditional one. Moreover, since the BOPP film is removed simultaneously during processing, the final product can be directly recycled, or left to fully-degrade thereby achieving the sustainable goal.
Traditional dispersion coating uses a large amount of organic solvent as a diluent, and during the drying process, it emits a significant amount of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). If not properly treated, it may cause harm to humans, animals, and the environment. To reduce the pollution of the solvent-based dispersion coating, water-based dispersion has come into the spotlight.
The newly developed aqueous dispersion coating used by Fudy Solutions has higher abrasion resistance than the standard matte film and far better than the ordinary water-based dispersion coating.
Not only does the new aqueous dispersion coating have superior abrasion resistance, but it also has a very competitive price in the market. It is about 50% cheaper than the standard matte film, plus it has a better anti-scratch effect. Furthermore, the aqueous dispersion coating is non-toxic, odorless, folding endurable, and unlikely to cause a chemical reaction, making it a good fit for food packaging. Thus, with all these strengths, our new aqueous dispersion coating is an economical and sustainable laminating choice that you cannot miss!
Being green is good for business, and green packaging has been Fudy’s long-cherished goal since we were established.
Packaging is the first impression you make with the consumer, so let’s make it the first step of going green. Overproduction is costing us the earth. However, nowadays, it is pretty tricky for anybody, whether we are producers or consumers, to escape the cycle of production and consumption. How to make changes in this cycle and leave a ray of light for our planet is a question everyone needs to ask themselves,
