As a leading paper packaging manufacturer, Fudy and its affiliated companies share a vital connection with forest resources. We recognize that trees are more than just raw materials for our products – they’re essential to maintaining Earth’s delicate ecological balance. Driven by our principle “From Forest to Forest,” we’re actively investing in reforestation projects to give back to nature in meaningful ways.
In today’s climate crisis, sustainable forests play a crucial role in fighting global warming through carbon capture. Recognizing this, both our Taipei headquarters and Suzhou Fuyang Plant launched targeted reforestation programs in 2024. Our Dongguan Fuyang Plant will join these efforts in 2025, furthering our vision of forest restoration.
Taipei Fudy was honored to be invited to join the Tree Planting Day celebrations on March 1, 2025, hosted by the Hualien Branch Office, Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Ministry of Agriculture. This meaningful event marked the third successful collaboration between the Hualien County Government and the Hualien Branch Office. The event focused on planting native Taiwanese species along the Meilun River, including trees that provide food for local flying fox (also known as fruit bat) populations – Alexandrian laurel, fringetree, Elaeocarpus sylvestris, and Indian almond trees.
This carefully planned initiative aims to create a flying fox-friendly environment that effectively connects forests, rivers, communities, and ocean ecosystems. By enhancing Hualien’s ecological network, the project fosters the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. Leading companies, including Fudy Printing, Taiwan Cement Corporation, 7-ELEVEN, and MUJI, were recognized with certificates of appreciation for their significant contributions to Hualien’s ecological green network project.
In line with the principle of “from forest to forest,” Taipei Fudy launched a partnership with the Hualien Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture in 2024-2025. This collaboration marks Fudy’s official participation in a reforestation and ecological conservation project in the Mashishan section of Guangfu Township, Hualien County.
As part of this impactful ecological restoration initiative, Fudy has adopted 1.422 hectares of land, committing to maintain a survival rate of at least 1,392 trees per hectare during the nurturing phase. To ensure the success of the reforestation effort, native tree species with ecological value, such as Ligustrum lucidum, Sapindus, and Lagerstroemia subcostata, were carefully selected to suit the local environment.
These native tree species not only excel in soil and water conservation but also provide ideal habitats for insects like butterflies and rhinoceros beetles. This initiative aims to gradually restore the vibrant forest ecosystem of Mashishan, making a tangible contribution to local biodiversity conservation.
Since 2024, Suzhou Fuyang has been implementing a dual approach to reforestation, both within and beyond its premises, demonstrating its commitment to giving back to forest resources. Externally, Fuyang has partnered with the “Suzhou Wuzhong District Charity Foundation” to actively contribute to the tree-planting project in the Xiaxiwan Wetland Park on the Taihu Ecological Island.
Building upon its 2024 reforestation efforts, Suzhou Fuyang took further action on March 1, 2025, with General Manager Zhao Chaogang personally leading the team in tree planting activities at the Taihu Xiaxiwan Park. This act underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.
The project features a variety of broadleaf tree species, including Cuiguan pear, yellow plum, loquat, fig, and Fraxinus chinensis. These trees are selected for their strong carbon absorption capabilities and ecological value, effectively mitigating climate change while providing diverse habitats for local wildlife. Notably, fruit trees like Cuiguan pear are expected to offer the locals a rich picking experience in the future, transforming the reforested area into a green hub for ecological conservation, environmental education, and leisure.
Meanwhile, Fuyang has integrated reforestation into its daily operations by planting 160 holly trees on its premises. These evergreen species not only beautify the working environment but also significantly improve air quality, creating a healthier and more breathable environment for employees. This key initiative showcases Fudy’s comprehensive and multifaceted approach to reforestation—focusing not only on external ecosystems but also on internal green development.
From Taipei to Suzhou, from Hualien to Taihu, Fudy and its affiliated companies are progressively practicing the environmental principle of “from forest to forest.” Through diverse reforestation projects, we not only contribute to forest resources but also forge a sustainable link between business and ecology.
From the ecological restoration of Hualien’s Mashishan to bat-friendly environments along the Meilun River; from forests in Suzhou’s Xiaxiwan Wetland Park to green spaces within factory premises—every tree symbolizes our unwavering commitment to the planet, and every forest is a timeless gift we pass on to future generations.
Looking ahead, Fudy will continue to scale up its tree planting initiatives and amplify its social impact, actively engaging employees, customers, suppliers, and community members in this meaningful green revolution. We firmly believe that a company’s sustainable development is deeply intertwined with the health and prosperity of the natural environment. Only by respecting and nurturing nature can we create a truly enduring and sustainable future.
Taking from the forest, giving back to the forest. Together, let us join hands to weave a broader and denser ecological green network for the Earth, safeguarding the beautiful home we all cherish.
