The Taipei headquarters of Fudy Group is deeply honored to participate in the “Big-Leads-Small Low-Carbon and Smart Upgrade Transformation” project, a collaboration between Zyxel Group Corporation and the Industrial Development Bureau. In this significant project, Zyxel Group Corporation generously invested substantial guidance and educational resources, leading Fudy to complete the ISO 14064:2018 carbon inventory and guiding our employees through a total of 110 hours of zero-carbon academy courses.
During our participation in the project, we genuinely felt the care and support from large enterprises towards small and medium-sized suppliers. Zyxel Group Corporation not only set requirements for us but, more importantly, provided professional ESG guidance and education. Through participation in the “Zero Carbon Academy,” our employees gained comprehensive sustainability training opportunities. From deeply understanding carbon emission concepts to learning how to write professional sustainability reports, these experiences greatly enhanced our professional knowledge and practical abilities in the field of sustainability.
Fudy Printing is sincerely honored to be part of Zyxel Group Corporation’s sustainable supply chain, able to join hands with them to contribute to Taiwan’s sustainable development. We especially want to thank MitraStar Technology Corp for willing to be Fudy’s senior and mentor in this sustainability learning journey, leading the entire supply chain to grow together.
Fudy Group’s factories in Dongguan, Suzhou, North Vietnam, and Taipei have successfully completed the ISO 14064:2018 carbon inventory. Building on this foundation, we have set a higher goal for ourselves—to complete the ISO 14067 product carbon footprint certification by 2025. This goal is both a challenge and a motivation for us.
Fudy Printing will always adhere to the concept of sustainable development, committed to providing our customers with high-quality, low-carbon footprint printing and packaging services. We believe that through continuous effort and innovation, we can find the perfect balance between business success and environmental protection.
The following article is a summary of a Business Weekly report. The original text can be found in “Leading 500 Suppliers to Learn ‘Carbon Language’, Zyxel Group Corporation Transforms into Networking Industry’s Carbon Reduction Pioneer in One Year”
Zyxel Group Corporation, as one of Taiwan’s top five networking equipment manufacturers with annual revenue exceeding 30 billion NTD, is actively promoting its “Big-Leads-Small Carbon Reduction” plan. This plan covers over 500 suppliers, aiming to help the upstream supply chain reduce carbon emissions. With subsidies from the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Zyxel Group plans to help its supply chain reduce carbon emissions by 830 tons within a year, accounting for about 4% of the group’s total carbon emissions.
For the networking industry, ESG performance directly affects competitiveness, especially in government tenders and telecom industry clients. However, upstream suppliers, often smaller in scale, face numerous challenges. MitraStar Technology Corp, a contract manufacturer under Zyxel Group, conducted ESG audits on 14 key suppliers and identified 105 deficiencies, mainly in labor rights and safety and health areas.
To improve this situation, Zyxel Group applied for and received a 24 million NTD subsidy to establish a “Zero Carbon Academy”. The academy offers 23 courses totaling 111 hours, teaching suppliers about carbon emissions and reduction strategies from the basics. Within a year, nearly 3,000 participants attended, with total class hours exceeding 4,000.
Packaging manufacturer Fudy Printing is a typical case in Zyxel Group’s “Big-Leads-Small Carbon Reduction” plan. Under Zyxel Group’s guidance, Fudy not only completed its carbon inventory but also actively participated in the Zero Carbon Academy’s continuing education courses. Fudy’s General Manager, Wu Huiming, stated that through these courses and practices, they gained a deep understanding of the importance of carbon emission management and reduction strategies. Zyxel Group also sent specialists to guide Fudy on how to write 8D reports, demonstrating sincerity and establishing a good cooperative relationship. Moreover, Zyxel Group’s on-site audits helped Fudy understand the importance of detailed regulations such as noise prevention.
Through these efforts, Zyxel Group Corporation has already seen significant results. For example, the carbon emissions from plastic casings of certain products have been reduced by 90%, and product packaging boxes now use 75% recycled paper materials. They expect to launch their first carbon-neutral networking product this year.
In the future, Zyxel Group plans to implement internal carbon pricing to further promote carbon reduction awareness. They believe that only by establishing a common “carbon language” can they maintain competitiveness in an era where carbon has value, and drive progress throughout the entire supply chain. Zyxel Group recognizes that these smaller-scale suppliers are important pillars of Taiwan’s economy. As long as large manufacturers are willing to teach, these suppliers can learn and grow together. Fudy’s success story is the best proof of this concept.
Finally, we want to especially thank Mr. Chen Yongcheng, senior writer at Business Weekly, for his excellent report, allowing more people to understand Fudy’s efforts and determination on the path of sustainable development.
Power for the Possible! We are Fudy, your product packaging consultant.
