Taipei Fudy has always been dedicated to environmental protection and sustainable ecological development. Thanks to a collaboration with the Yilan Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, Fudy has taken on the responsibility of caring for the Pinglin Jingualiao Fern Path since 2024. As we set out on the Spring Eco-Tour to admire fireflies, our adventure started by clearing the trails of human-made debris that didn’t belong in the forest. Guided by environmental experts, we ventured into the captivating local landscape, uncovering a multitude of breathtaking plants and animals. Through these activities, we not only beheld nature’s splendor but also gained a deeper understanding of the importance of ecological conservation.
As you enter the path, you’ll notice signs donated by Fudy, with clear messages like “Preserve Biodiversity, Reduce Packaging” and “Do Not Feed Wild Animals, Protect Biodiversity.” These gentle reminders showcase Fudy’s reflection as a packaging industry and highlight our sincere commitment to preserving biodiversity. These signs convey a welcoming message to all visitors, reminding us of our duty as caretakers of nature.
The Jingualiao Fern Path has been effectively safeguarding streams for years, hosting schools of fish, including Taiwan’s native species, and boasting a wealth of ferns. Both adults and children alike were captivated, expressing their wonder repeatedly. This invaluable ecological setting enables us to grasp the richness of life’s diversity and its resilience. We must collaborate to safeguard every creature’s habitat, ensuring the longevity of such breathtaking scenery.
Following a dinner crafted from local ingredients, we were treated to a special night tour of the ecology, where we were mesmerized by the brilliant glow of fireflies. These tiny creatures twinkled like stars in the dark, lending enchantment to the forest. Our guides enlightened us about various firefly species and the proper etiquette for appreciating these natural marvels.
