Packaging Design for Social Good: Fudy’s Annual Design Theme, ‘Packaging a Home | Innovative Pet Adoption Design Project’  embarks on a compelling odyssey in packaging design dedicated to social welfare. Fudy aspires to boost stray animal adoption rates, aiding homeless animals in assimilating into human life and finding their way back home.”

We want to use our professional packaging structural design capabilities to improve the adoption rate of strays, reduce abandonment rates, return land to wildlife, and promote the maintenance of biodiversity.

After in-depth research and workshops with experts, the designers fully understand the needs of target users, including animal protection agencies, stray animal adoption units, and adopters, which laid a solid foundation for developing the “Pack a Home” project.

Voluntary participation in Packaging Design for Social Good

The starting point of the “Pack a Home” project was solely to care for animals, which aimed to help stray animals find a permanent home and promote adoption without abandonment. However, Fudy believes that voluntary participation can give the best energy to this project. We do not want to force designers to participate but hope they can voluntarily join this project with the concept of “Pack a Home” to ensure that the design works are full of creativity and passion.

To achieve this concept, Fudy’s sustainability department has established an internal competition mechanism and encourages designers to participate voluntarily. The competition process was divided into two stages: internal selection and final selection and presentation. This way allowed participants to fully exert their creativity and professional knowledge rather than being subject to external pressure.

In the end, we were glad to welcome the participation of three groups of designer teams who enthusiastically participated in the “Pack a Home” annual design theme competition and sparked countless exciting creative sparks in the process.

Three different entry points with three different packaging design works

Interestingly, although the common goal of these three groups of designers was to help stray animals return home, they chose completely different entry points, which brings diversity and creativity to the “Pack a Home” project.

The following is a brief introduction to these three different packaging designs:

  1. Easy & Pleasant – Multi-functional Adoption Box|This group of designers created a multi-functional adoption box to make the adoption process more accessible and pleasant. They focused on improving the convenience of adoption to ensure more animals can find a permanent home. After being adopted, stray animals can be safely transported home in the adoption box. Moreover, the adoption box can be transformed into a hidden nest or an open bed, extending the life of the adoption box and demonstrating Fudy’s strength as a packaging design exper輕鬆+愉快多功能認養箱"1. 2. Howl House – Pet Game Box |This team’s design inspiration comes from satisfying animal nature. They proposed an educational concept of a pet game box, which can help adopters learn how to meet the playful needs of animals, making animal-human life harmonious and reducing behavior problems caused by unhappy and bored animals. This game box can be freely assembled for easy storage and provides fun and vitality for animal family life.嚎來屋寵物遊戲箱 2. Howl House - Pet Game Box
  3. Pet Guardian – Pet Disaster Preparedness kit|This group of designers proposed a concept of a pet emergency kit aimed at improving adopters’ care and protection of animals and implementing the concept of pet disaster preparedness in daily life. They regard animals as family members and will not abandon them even during a disaster.寵護者寵物防災箱 Pet Guardian - Pet Disaster Preparedness kit

These three designs represent different perspectives and innovative thinking while covering the needs of stray animals from adoption to family life and emergency response measures, so that a permanent home can be truly realized. “Pack a Home | Innovative Pet Adoption Design Project” demonstrates this diversity and creativity. We hope that Fudy’s packaging structural design capabilities can bring a better future for stray animals.
